Doll’s House Printable Flooring: The Best Free & Paid Resources (And How to Install Them)

Printable doll’s house flooring is an easy and affordable way to get a convincing project finish, whether you’re going for rustic wood planks, classic black-and-white chequered tiles, or something more decorative like Victorian geometric or encaustic patterns. The range of what’s available online — both free and paid — has grown massively, and the quality of some of the designs out there is genuinely impressive.

Using printable floors can save you time and money. You can adjust a design to fit a specific size instead of wasting materials, and of course, print immediately, so you don’t need to sit and wait for a delivery when you’re raring to finish a room!

As long as you have a high-quality printer and paper, you can purchase flooring for your doll’s house, print it, and install it in minutes. I’m using an Epson Ecotank ET-2860 that I’ve been very happy with so far.

Some of the free options can be a bit hit-and-miss when it comes to scale accuracy and print quality, so I’ve pulled together a list of the most reliable resources I’ve found. With free printables, you might need a bit more skill and patience to get them to fit your design. I’ve also included a handful of paid options from creators whose designs are worth the investment if you’re after something really polished. If you’re looking for other types of miniature printables, such as wallpapers, books, and food labels, have a look at my 24 resources with the best miniature printables.

Tips for printing & installing flooring printables

Before you hit print, a few things that’ll make a big difference to how your floors turn out.

Paper weight matters

Standard printer paper (80 gsm) is fine for testing a design, but for the final piece, go for something heavier. 120gsm to 160gsm card stock gives a much more convincing finish and won’t wrinkle when you glue it down.

Matte over glossy (usually)

Matte or silk finishes tend to look far more realistic, especially for wood planks and flagstone. The exception is tiles, where a slight sheen on a kitchen or bathroom floor can actually work really well.

Always check your scale before committing

Print a test sheet at 100% (no scaling) and hold it against your doll’s house or room box to check that the proportions look right. If you need to resize, do it in small increments — even a few percent can throw off a repeating pattern.

Use a good glue and work flat

A glue stick or spray adhesive will give you the smoothest result without warping. PVA can work, but don’t use too much. Press the flooring down firmly and let it dry under something flat and heavy.

Seal it if you want it to last

A coat of matte glue or a clear matte varnish will protect the print from fingerprints and fading, and give the floor a more finished look.

I’ll keep this list updated as I find new resources. Feel free to get in touch if you’ve used a printable floor for your doll’s house.
